FinProxy is a UK fintech building a protection and collaboration platform for everyone involved in a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) for financial affairs. The donor (or ‘granter’ in Scotland, the person granting the power of attorney) connects their bank accounts via Open Banking, helps attorneys oversee and where necessary, manage those finances transparently and in the donor’s best interests. This gives family members and professional advisors the oversight they need to support and protect the people they care for.
Appmilla is working closely with the FinProxy team to build the platform from the ground up, collaborating on ideation for the full future product roadmap, and starting development with initial proof-of-concepts to test out the cutting edge and unique features, and looking forwards to plan these these into the production-ready MVP.
AI sits at the heart of the product itself – helping attorneys support their loved ones in accordance with their personal preferences and wishes, while flagging anything that looks out of the ordinary. Accessibility and inclusivity are also central to FinProxy’s mission. The platform is being designed with the needs of people with cognitive impairment and additional needs firmly in mind, reflecting the reality that the people FinProxy exists to protect may need a product that works harder to meet them where they are. FinProxy have worked closely with the Alzheimer’s Society Launchpad Programme, to gain insight and experience that helps to shape both the product design and the priorities for the MVP.
